They are cheap, fun, and can be a good addition to a self-care routine. So head to the fridge and get glowing!

Avocado Honey Face Mask To Nourish And Hydrate

This one is great for dry winter skin. Avocado has essential fatty acids, Vitamin C and E, and is loaded with antioxidants to keep your skin hydrated and smooth. Honey is a know humectant and retains moisture in the skin to make it glow. It also clarifies the skin, opening the pores and making it easier to keep them unclogged. However, when choosing a honey to add to your DIY routine, make sure it is raw or organic as the cheap store bought stuff won’t produce the same results. Adding oats to your face mask will calm and soothe your skin, as well as providing gently exfoliation without being too harsh.

Simply mash all the ingredients together in a bowl, apply to a clean face, and leave on for fifteen minutes. Wash off with warm (not hot) water and revel in your glowing complexion.

What You’ll Need:
  • Half an avocado
  • One tablespoon of honey (preferably organic or raw)
  • Handful of oats

Organic Banana Mask For A Natural Glow

Turns out that bananas are good for you inside and out. Using this yellow powerhouse on your skin will help slough off excess sebum (great for acne prone skin), help fade age spots and prevent fine lines, and hydrate dry skin. This is a great option for folks with combination skin. Oranges are a natural source of Vitamin C which brightens skin and helps protect it from damaging external factors.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl (or blender) and apply to cleansed skin. Wait 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water, or gently remove with a washcloth. We swear you will be able to see a noticeable difference.

What You’ll Need:
  • Half a banana
  • One tablespoon of orange juice (preferably organic or fresh-squeezed)
  • One tablespoon of honey (preferably raw or organic)

Papaya Cacao Face Mask To Brighten

This one is for all the folks with sensitive skin (rejoice)! Papaya is loaded with exfoliating enzymes that will gently dissolve dead skin cells.  Raw cacao is chock full of anti-inflammatory properties that will help soothe redness and blemishes and can also help protect from premature aging. It would take a whole separate article to fully tout the benefits of Aloe Vera, but suffice to say it is full of vitamins, antioxidants, and enzymes making it a perfect ingredient to add to and DIY skin care routine.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, apply to clean skin, and remove with warm water and a wash cloth after 10-15 minutes.

What You’ll Need:
  • 1/4 of a papaya
  • One tablespoon of raw cacao powder
  • A squeeze of Aloe Vera gel
