Their unique hybrid of hip hop and contemporary pushes the boundaries of creative choreography on the World of Dance Stage.
We reached out to Josh & Erica about their experience on Season 4, and here are the behind the scenes questions and answers, that we are exclusively bringing to you!
Q: Why did you decide to be on World of Dance Season 4?
E: Josh asked me to do the show because some of our favorite moments are when we get to make art together. I was excited to come back since I had such a wonderful experience last year when I competed with a different partner. We did a more technical routine which had its own set of challenges. Dancing with your boyfriend is also very different because you are more honest with each other which can be both a good thing and a bad thing!
J: My team at World of Dance Records encouraged me to do so. I want to offer a whole different side of my creative self than what I’m used to expressing, so we can dive deeper into what else I have to offer… MUSIC!
Q: What was your favorite memory/experience being on World of Dance?
E: My favorite memory was hanging out with the other contestants and getting to know them! Everyone on the show was so amazing and I definitely made some new friends.
J: My favorite memory was showing JLO our dance abilities and having her say, “This is something I’d pay to see.”
Q: If you could tell viewers only one thing about yourself, what would it be?
E: I would tell viewers that I love to perform and am so thankful for the opportunity to share my passion with them all!
J: I want to be known as the artist that was never afraid to take risks. Never afraid to break creative boundaries and push the limits. I want people to feel motivated through my music and creativity, and be inspired by my visions.
Q: Why do you think dance is important to the world?
E: Dance is an amazing was to connect to others and express yourself. I personally am obsessed with music and dance is my way of fully experiencing it!
J: Dance is energy. Dance will force people to forget about their issues in life and to breathe. It’s medicine. A dance could potentially get someone through a rough time in life. It’s communication without talking.
