Our Interview with Complot Imperium

WOD: Can you give us a little background about the crew: how long have you been together/how did you meet?

Complot Imperium: We have always loved to dance, but the dream of becoming a competition crew born in High school, back to 2007, when some of our members started a school dance club (Imperium) that with the years ended up partnering with one of the top studios in Panamá, Complot. That’s how Complot Imperium was created.

WOD: What are you feeling going the Championships?

Complot Imperium: Amazing!! This is our first time competing in World of Dance, so we are both nervous and excited.

WOD: What is your favorite part of competing in World of Dance?

Complot Imperium: Compared to other competitions we have participated before, World of Dance is giving us the opportunity of showing our true dance style and create the show with no boundaries or specific rules; So our favorite part about this process was exploring this whole new concept of creating an original show.

WOD: What part of your dance, choreography, or performance are you most proud of?

Complot Imperium: Our show for WOD Finals its going to be all about the latinos urban culture, so we are enjoying every single second of the mix and routine.

WOD: What exciting things will you be doing/focusing on in the next year?

Complot Imperium: We will definitely aim higher next year, looking to audition on tv dance competitions like World Of Dance and try to show are style to the world.

WOD: Why do you think dance is important to the world?

Complot Imperium: Everybody loves dancing, even if they think they are bad at it; It brings joy everywhere and that makes the world a better place.

WOD: What’s your favorite part about being a crew?

Complot Imperium: The best part of being a crew is when you get to celebrate together something you all have accomplished. To see other dancers grow in talent and technique and share those moments of learning and discovery with them is priceless.

WOD: Anything else you’d like to add?

Complot Imperium: This is the first year Panama is going to be represent on a World of Dance international event, so we are beyond happy to compete, show our talent to the world and learn everything we can from this experience to become better. More than just competing, this is going to be a huge experience of all kinds for us. We cant wait!
