This week’s World of Dance Spotlight artist features Bailey Drew Sok. Born February 4th, 2004, of Korean descent, Bailey is a multi-talented dancer, choreographer, and actress born and raised to be in the spotlight. At just three years old, Bailey’s mother enrolled her in a dance class, and ever since then, she has put her all into dance and the dance community. At the age of five, Bailey attended the studio Dance Precisions in Anaheim, California, leading her to dance on the hit show America’s Got Talent. While Bailey is trained in multiple dance disciplines (jazz, tap, lyrical, to name a few), she deems that her favorite style is hip hop.
Bailey has been a part of many dance groups in the span of her dance career. Before her dance group days, she participated in Dance-Off Juniors season 2, episode 1, with Matt Steffanina, Ladia Yates, and Todrick Hall as judges. In 2014, she was placed in a dance group named Buns & Roses, which put Bailey Sok front and center in the spotlight on stage for America’s Got Talent! After her Buns & Roses group debut in 2017, Bailey was showcased in the first-ever NBC World of Dance finals with the crew S-Rank. S-Rank returned in 2018 for season 2 of World of Dance as part of the upper division. She was the youngest member of the group at age thirteen. Following her World of Dance career, she competed in the 2020 World of Dance season 4 as a duo with Kida the Great. Although they didn’t win, they made it to the semi-finals.
Bailey is no stranger to live performances, as she has shared the stage with multiple other talented celebrities. She has performed with Janet Jackson, Meghan Trainor, Alessia Cara, Jason Derulo, Marshmello, Sophia Carson, and Steve Aoki. She starred in KSI’s Poppin, featuring Lil Pump and Smokepurpp in 2020. Bailey has also dabbled in choreographing. At 15 years old, she choreographed the K-Pop group Red Velvet to their song Psycho which has over 300 million views. She co-choreographed WENGIE ft. MINNIE of (G)I-DLE to the song Empire. In 2021 she also assisted in choreographic K-Pop group SHINee’s Don’t Call Me music video. Bailey continues to take over the dance scene on stage and on screen.
Aside from dancing, she has recently taken an interest in acting. She made her acting debut starring as Viv Anderson on the American tv series Zoe Valentine, produced and distributed by Brat. In 2021 she landed the role of Lucky in the movie Keep Moving.
Bailey Sok has made her mark in the entertainment industry and continues to grow as one of the top dance social influencers. From starting dance at the age of three to being seventeen and already having all of these accomplishments under her belt, she has proved that she has no limit to what she can do. With almost 2 million TikTok (@baileysok1)and Instagram (@baileysok) followers each, it’s safe to say that Bailey’s success will only continue to skyrocket, and we look forward to seeing what else she has to offer the world.
